HOPI EAR CANDLING

This has many alternative titles including ‘ear coning’ ‘thermotherapy’, ‘thermal auricular therapy’ and ‘thermo auricular therapy’. It is probably best known as Hopi Ear Candling as it appears that the Hopi tribe have the oldest recorded use of them. Ancient rock paintings show the use of Ear Candling in rituals and medicinal ceremonies.

An ear candle is not a solid wax candle – it is in fact a hollow linen tube, which has been impregnated with beeswax, vitamins and oils.

The ear candles work by creating a chimney effect and a vibration of air in the candle generates a massaging effect on the eardrum. This is a very soothing and balances the pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.

Conditions for which the Hopi Ear Candles may be useful:

· EXCESS WAX
· LOSS OF HEARING
· DIZZINESS
· TINNITUS
· VERTIGO & NAUSEA
· SINUS
· GLUE EAR
· SNORING
· SLEEP APNOEA

Japanese Foot Massage TSUBOKI®

Japanese Foot Massage TSUBOKI® - 45 mins of sheer bliss. Foot Massage with Ridoki roller and oils using anma and acupressure points.

Brief History of Foot Massage

The tradition of foot massage goes back thousands of years in India, then China and Japan.

According to tradition, it was taught by Buddha, which is why there are many carvings of feet with symbols, or "Buddha's Footprints" throughout Asia. It was then combined with elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In the 5th and 6th Century warrior monks brought it to Japan, where it was known as ZOKO SHIN DO or Sokushindo.

A well known Japanese doctor Kada established Zokushindo as a separate discipline, adding massage techniques with oil. It became part of Japanese Folk Medicine, often offered at inns. Weary travellers would arrive and be able to remove their shoes, have their feet washed, and receive foot massage and reflexology to restore their energy and well-being.

The stresses we experience in today's modern world may be different, but the solutions remain the same.

Taking time out receiving therapeutic touch, feeling cared for - are all ways we can help our minds and bodies to remain in an optimal state of health.
